They are the ones who meticulously protect their prayers.
(Al-Me'âric 34. Verse)
Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) emphasized the importance of prayer with the words "Prayer is the pillar of religion." And what are the scientific benefits of prayer, which is a must for Muslims?
Scientific Researches About Prayer
"In prayer, all large body muscles move in different sizes. There are both active and isometric contraction movements in prayer. These movements directly and indirectly influence the entire organism. Prayer employs important muscle groups in the body and provides proper posture, increases blood circulation, strengthens ligaments and tendons, prevents muscle tearing, positive effect on joints, resting eyes, accumulated in the body removal of electrical loads, arthritis, blood pressure and variks are some benefits. It also has a positive effect on the brain, heart, stomach, bile, pancreas, kidney and urinary tract.
Conclusion: Apart from the direction of worship of prayer, it has benefits for movement, circulation, breathing, digestion, nerve and hormonal systems. Exercise and sports will provide more benefits to the human body at specified times and if they are made in accordance with the rule." 1https://www.researchgate.net/publication/306929463_Benefits_of_Prayer_as_a_Physical_Activity
"With this study, we discovered that prayer is a spiritual and physical action that makes almost all muscles of the human body more active than any physical exercise without muscle fatigue." 2https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Muscle-activity-estimation-through-surface-EMG-Khanam-Islam/c9aa535209198aac8c7f914bfa5b76d4274f37cf
"Prayer has various physical benefits as a daily physical practice made by Muslims 5 times a day. Prayer postures are similar to yoga postures and therefore prayer can be fulfilled as a religious obligation while at the same time provide all the benefits of yoga. Prayer and Yoga can often be considered a kind of stretching and flexibility exercise. It produces internal energy, vitality and flexibility."3https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/article-file/225986
"The prevalence of knee osteoarthritis (calcification) in Muslims was lower than buddhists. Muslims pray since childhood, forcing knees to bend deep, stretching soft tissue around the knee and reducing the hardness and contact pressure of joint cartilage." 4https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19830384
"As a result, we found that prayer movements are equivalent to moderate exercise in terms of physical exercise values. Prayer also contributed to increasing cardiovascular system capacity. The low value of heart rate in prostrate position lowered the blood pressure from systolic blood in both real and mimic prayers. Prayer can be used as a therapy for patients with heart problems such as musculoskeletal system or hypertension in this sense." 5https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/.
"This preliminary study suggests that mimicking prayer movements and postures can have beneficial effects for erectile dysfunction patients." 6https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3818777/
"It has been found that prayer improves balance in healthy individuals as well as in paralyzed patients, reduces the chances of developing knee osteoarthritis and provides cardiovascular and compositional benefits." 7https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Salat-(Muslim-prayer)-as-a-therapeutic-exercise.-Osama-Malik/019bc5494205c635df36648a70c71344f090c012
"Our study shows that secdene increases brain blood flow in healthy subjects and may be beneficial in elderly and stroke patients." 8http://journal.rums.ac.ir/browse.php?a_id=417&sid=1&slc_lang=en
"The result shows that prostrating during prayer produces higher alpha relative strength compared to imitation prostrate. This finding concludes that the choice, which is a unique position in prayer, can provide a significant relaxation situation to the human mind and body." 9https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/5412056/authors#authors
"Prayer activity helps treat patients with neurological deficiency and musculoskeletal disorders. It provides mental and physical benefits with minimal effort." 10https://www.researchgate.net/publication/306124412_HEALTH_BENEFITS_OF_SALAT_PRAYER_Neurological_rehabilitation
"Parasympathetic activity increased during prayer, sympathetic activity decreased. Therefore, regular prayer practices can help to increase relaxation, minimize anxiety and reduce cardiovascular risk." 11https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4086364/
"According to the research, the complex physical movements of prayer can reduce lower back pain when performed regularly and appropriately." 12https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/03/170306154230.htm
"Prayer simultaneously includes repetitive body movements that require repetitive functions that are destroyed during Alzheimer's disease such as repetition/speech, memory recall, hearing, attention, decision to start and finish the task, calculation, concentration, sense of time, location, direction, hygiene, self-discipline, etc. Prolonged prayer can improve comprehension, lower blood lipids and prevent Alzheimer's disease." 14http://aanddjournal.net/article/S1552-5260(12)01639-1/fulltext
"Thus, physical movements during prayer allow the cerebral spinal fluid to wash the basal parts of the brain. Therefore bending (as Muslims do about 120 times a day with prayer) will be entirely useful for cooling the brain.
Wearing shoes with insulation soles separated most people from earth's electrical rhythms and free electrons. In cases where it is not practical to walk barefoot on earth, putting hands (palms) on Earth, as Muslims do with prayer about 80 times a day (with a continuous plantar contact on earth for 60 minutes), is a natural provides a foundation that restores and protects electrical contact.
As a result, as the cornerstone of religious practices in Islam, daily prayer with ablution has positive effects for both brain and body health through the brain cooling system and grounding." 15https://www.researchgate.net/publication/304567179_Medical_aspects_of_ablution_and_prayer
As can be seen from the above scientific studies, prayer provides physical and mental benefits on the whole body. It has positive effects on the muscle system, joints, brain, nervous system, eyes, internal organs and even reproductive system. It also acts as a protective shield in the prevention of many physical and psychological disorders.
The key to prayer is another miracle, ablution, which we will mention in a different article.
Anyone who does not perform his prayer knowingly seems to have lost his family and property.
